Uploading Files To DCG One’s (Ticket Envelope Sister Company) Ftp Server

Uploading files from either your Macintosh or Windows computer to our FTP server is an easy, quick and efficient way to get your project files to us. Following the guidelines below will help ensure a troublefree transfer.

We recommend you use a dedicated FTP client, rather than a Web browser, to perform your FTP transfers.

We suggest Transmit (http://www.panic.com/transmit) for the Macintosh, and CuteFTP (http://www.cuteftp.com/cuteftp) for Windows.

First, make sure you have compressed your files into a single stuffed or zipped file. Give this file a short but descriptive name — for example, you can use your name, your sales rep’s name, project title, etc. This enables us to identify who sent the file.

Leave the folder window containing the file to be transferred open on the desktop.

FROM A WINDOWS COMPUTER USING CUTE FTP:

Start CuteFTP.

A transfer window will appear. Select File/New/FTP Site... A login window will appear with blank host address, user name and password fields.

In the host address field, enter ftp.mccallumprintgroup.com. Enter mpg in the user ID field, and mpg in the password field. Note that mpg is all lowercase.

Click Connect. CuteFTP will connect with McCallum Print Group’s FTP server, and display a window showing the contents of the FTP server.

Now, simply drag your zipped file from your open folder into the FTP directory window (making sure to avoid dropping your file on any enclosed folder) and your transfer will be initiated. A progress indicator should appear, and when the indicator shows the transfer is complete, you’re done!

Be sure to let your MPG sales rep know that you’ve transferred your files, and we’ll take it from there.

FROM A MACINTOSH COMPUTER USING TRANSMIT:

Start Transmit by double-clicking the program name or icon. An "Untitled” window will appear with blank server name, user name, password and initial path fields.

In the server field, enter ftp.mccallumprintgroup.com. Enter mpg in the user ID field, and mpg in the password field. Note that mpg is all lowercase.

Click OK. Transmit will connect with McCallum Print Group’s FTP server, and display a window showing the contents of the FTP server. In the lower left, you should see "Status: Idle,” indicating a successful connection.

Now, simply drag your stuffed or zipped file from your open folder into the FTP directory window (making sure to avoid dropping your file on any enclosed folder) and your transfer will be initiated. A progress indicator will appear at the bottom of the window. When the indicator indicates the transfer is complete, you’re done!

Be sure to let your MPG sales rep know that you’ve transferred your files, and we’ll take it from there.

IMPORTANT:

Our FTP server is set up so you can easily connect and transfer files from both Macintosh and Windows computers. If you have trouble connecting or logging on, here are a few things to check:

Are you behind a firewall?

If so, the firewall may be blocking access to our FTP site. It should be configured so that ports 20 and 21 are open. Make sure your FTP client is set to PASV (passive) mode. Some TCP/IP routers will also block outgoing access, and will need to be configured to allow access to ports 20 and 21. Please check with your systems administrator to make sure your router allows outgoing access.

Do you have an onboard firewall active? Specifically, Windows XP firewall?

Check http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/home/using/howto/homenet/icf.asp for information on configuring the Windows XP firewall.

Are you using virus protection software or Norton Internet Security 2004?

Please check with the software publisher to determine if your protection software is blocking you from FTP. Norton (http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/support_options.html) and McAfee (http://www.mcafeehelp.com) are two popular publishers of anti-virus software.
